Here are the results for Skilled Independent visa (subclass 189) and Skilled Regional (provisional) visa (subclass 489) visas invitation rounds that were conducted in April of 2019.
A total of 110 invitations were issued in the SkillSelect invitation round on 11 April. While only 10 invitations were sent for Skilled Regional (provisional) visa (subclass 489), 100 invitations were issued for Skilled Independent visa (subclass 189).
Talking about Skilled Independent visa (subclass 189), 49 invitations were sent to clients with minimum 80 points; 31 to clients with minimum 85 points; 16 to clients with minimum 90 points; and 4 invitations were issued to clients with minimum 95 points. On the other hand, for Skilled Regional (provisional) visa (subclass 489), 6 invitations were issued to clients with minimum 80 points and the remaining 4 were sent to clients with minimum 85 points.
All in all, the minimum cut-off score for both the visa subclasses was 80 points for April 2019.
It should be noted that SkillSelect first allocates available places to Skilled – Independent visas (subclass 189) and then the remaining to Skilled – Regional (Provisional) visas (subclass 489). In case all places are taken up by subclass 189 visas, there will be no invitations issued for subclass 489 visas.
