Northwest Territories

With more than one million square kilometres of land and a population of just over 40,000 people, the Northwest Territories bring tons of immigration opportunities for foreign workers and entrepreneurs.

The Northwest Territories Nominee Program is a bunch of immigration pathways providing opportunities for foreign nationals to become permanent residents of Canada.

The program targets workers in skilled, semi-skilled, and low-skilled occupations through employer-driven immigration streams. On the other hand, its counterpart, the business-driven streams, seek entrepreneurs and business owners from different sectors to create and establish new businesses in this region.

The immigration streams operated by this province is are divided into three categories:
•    Northwest Territories Express Entry
•    Northwest Territories Employer-Driven
•    Northwest Territories Business-Driven

Northwest Territories Express Entry

Skilled workers in the federal Express Entry pool can have accelerated permanent residence applications through this stream, provided they have a job offer from an eligible Northwest Territories employer.

Northwest Territories Employer-Driven

These streams provide opportunities for foreign nationals who have experience in occupations classified as NOC Skill Level 0, A, B, C, or D and have a full-time, permanent job offer from a qualified employer. These are divided into two categories:
•    Critical Impact Worker
•    Skilled Worker

Northwest Territories Business-Driven

This stream is for business owners and entrepreneurs who wish to create a new business in the Northwest Territories. Though this stream accepts applications from nearly all economic sectors, priority is given to businesses that offer a significant benefit to the Northwest Territories economy or that introduces a completely new product. The applications are processed under the “Entrepreneur” category.
