The applicants are required to provide proof of language proficiency in either English or French with CLB level 7 at least.
The applicants must have a minimum of a 2-year post-secondary educational credential, which must have been completed in-person at either Memorial University or the College of the North Atlantic within 2 years of submission of the EOI.
The applicants must have experience of at least 1 year in managing and owning a business actively and must own a minimum of one-third of it in the province of Newfoundland & Labrador.
As this program uses the system of Expression of Interest (EOI) to select the applicants, the candidate must first submit an EOI using the PNP’s online service in order to be considered eligible for this program. Only the most competitive and qualified candidates get invitation to apply to the program.
Upon receiving an Invitation to Apply (ITA), the candidates must submit their application for nomination to the province, which should include the documents supporting the information that was included in the original EOI. At this stage, the applicants have to pay an application fee of CAD $250 and provide a Business Continuity Plan along with an Audit Report, describing their entrepreneurial intentions. The applicant will need to participate in an in-person interview only if the application is deemed to be complete.
Once the application gets approved, the applicant receives an official provincial nomination from Newfoundland & Labrador, after which they may apply to IRCC for Canadian PR.
