International Graduate Category

This stream of NL PNP is specially designed for graduates who have completed at least half of their post-secondary studies from an approved educational institution in Canada and have received a job offer or are currently employed by a Newfoundland & Labrador employer. Such candidates may be eligible to receive the provincial nomination as International graduates.

Job Offer

In order to be eligible for this stream, the candidates must have a full-time job offer from an eligible employer in the province of Newfoundland & Labrador. The employment must be related to candidate’s field of study. Furthermore, the applicant must also meet the education and experience requirements as outlined in the job description.

Language Proficiency

The language proficiency should be sufficient to perform the job offered. If case the position is at NOC Skill Level C or D, the candidate must score equivalent to CLB level 4.

Level of Education

The candidates must have successfully completed at least a 2-year diploma/degree or a 1-year post-graduate degree from an eligible Canadian post-secondary institution anywhere in Canada. Additionally, the candidate must have educational credentials that are required to perform the offered job.

Work Experience

At the time of their application, the candidates must be working in Canada on a valid Post-Graduation Work Permit with at least six months validity remaining at the time of applying for provincial nomination. Also, the candidates who obtained their degree/diploma outside the province of Newfoundland & Labrador may be required to be employed for at least 1 year in their field of study before being eligible to submit their application. Furthermore, the candidate must have additional work experience that is required to perform the offered job.

Application Procedure

As this stream is open to new applications at all times, the eligible candidates may submit a complete application by paying the application fee of $250 CAD. Successful applicants get a provincial nomination from the province. Once the provincial nomination is received, the applicant has 6 months to submit a federal application for Canadian PR. A paper-based PR application must be submitted in complete by mail to the appropriate application centre by the applicants in this program. Such PR applications generally get processed within 18 months.
