As this stream operates on the system of Expression of Interest, the eligible candidates must submit it along with a business concept to the New Brunswick PNP. It must be noted that NBPNP pauses intake of new EOIs at times and does not provide any notification in regard to re-opening. While each candidate must score at least 65 points on the NB Entrepreneurial Stream Assessment Grid in order to be eligible, only the candidates ranking at the highest positions and the ones whose business concepts prove to be of economic benefit for the province are issued an invitation to apply.

Applicants receiving an invitation to apply from the NBPNP must submit a completed application for provincial nomination within 90 days by paying a $250 CAD processing fee. Eligible applicants who have submitted an application get invited to participate in an interview with NBPNP immigration officers, which may include a visit to the applicant’s business. If the application and interview process proves to be successful, the applicant is issued a certificate of nomination from New Brunswick.

The applicant gets six months to submit a federal application for Canadian PR after receiving a provincial nomination. The applicants must complete and submit a paper-based application for PR and submit it by mail to the appropriate application centre. Such applications take about 18 months to be processed.

New Brunswick Entrepreneurial Stream Assessment Grid

In order to be eligible to submit an EOI to this stream, the candidates must score at least 65 points on the assessment grid. As the stream uses the assessment grid to rank candidates, only the ones with the most competitive scores get invited to apply to the program.
