This is one of the streams of the PNP program operated by the province of New Brunswick. It is specially designed to target experienced business owners or senior business managers who wish to live in New Brunswick.
The successful applicants must either start a new business or buy an existing one, and must participate in its day-to-day management duties. New Brunswick periodically organizes events out of Canada for foreign nationals who are interested to immigrate to Canada. Candidates successful through these information sessions are eligible to immigrate to Canada through the New Brunswick PNP or the Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program.

In order to be eligible, the candidates must have either visited the province of New Brunswick for at least 5 business days within the last 24 months or must have participated in an Entrepreneurial Stream information session within the last 24 months.
In order to be eligible for this stream, the candidates must demonstrate language proficiency in English or French consistent with CLB level 5.
Candidates must have completed either a 3-year full-time academic degree from a college or university or a 2-year full-time diploma in a specific trade.
The candidates must have work experience sufficient enough to demonstrate that they can successfully establish and run a business in the province of New Brunswick. They must have owned at least one-third (33.3%) of a business and must have actively managed it for at least 3 out of the last 5 years. Also, the candidate must have supervised at least two employees.
Candidates must demonstrate a minimum personal net worth of at least $600,000 CAD, out of which at least $300,000 CAD must be readily available and unencumbered. Furthermore, in order to be successful through this stream, the candidate will need to invest at least $250,000 CAD in the business, which they will establish and actively manage in the province of New Brunswick.
The candidates must be anywhere from 22 to 55 years of age on the day of receiving of their application.
In order to be eligible, the candidates must score at least 65 points on the New Brunswick Entrepreneurial Stream Assessment Grid.
The applicants to this stream must either establish a new business or purchase an existing one in the province of New Brunswick. In any case, at least one-third (33.3%) of the business must be owned and actively managed by the candidate. Additionally, it must be a for-profit, private-sector business that must be of economic benefit to the province of New Brunswick. Furthermore, the business must also create at least 2 full-time jobs for Canadian permanent residents or citizens.
As this stream operates on the system of Expression of Interest, the eligible candidates must submit it along with a business concept to the New Brunswick PNP. It must be noted that NBPNP pauses intake of new EOIs at times and does not provide any notification in regard to re-opening. While each candidate must score at least 65 points on the NB Entrepreneurial Stream Assessment Grid in order to be eligible, only the candidates ranking at the highest positions and the ones whose business concepts prove to be of economic benefit for the province are issued an invitation to apply.
Applicants receiving an invitation to apply from the NBPNP must submit a completed application for provincial nomination along with $2,000 CAD processing fee. If the application turns out to be successful, an additional $100,000 CAD is to be deposited and a business performance agreement is to be signed with the NBPNP. The applicant is eligible to apply for a refund of this deposit after one year if the applicant meets all of the conditions of the business performance agreement. The NBPNP will issue a provincial nomination to the applicant once it receives the deposit and signed business performance agreement.
The applicant gets six months to submit a federal application for Canadian PR after receiving a provincial nomination. The applicants must complete and submit a paper-based application for PR and submit it by mail to the appropriate application centre. Such applications take about 18 months to be processed.
New Brunswick Entrepreneurial Stream Assessment Grid
In order to be eligible to submit an EOI to this stream, the candidates must score at least 65 points on the assessment grid. As the stream uses the assessment grid to rank candidates, only the ones with the most competitive scores get invited to apply to the program.
