To qualify to submit an EOI for this pathway, a candidate must demonstrate interest, ability, and financial resources to own and actively manage a farm in Manitoba. This is the reason that the program requires a high level of farm management experience along with substantial financial net worth.
The applicant must have at least 3 years of work experience as a business or farm owner. In addition to this, all the applicants must demonstrate that they possess practical farming skills, technical knowledge and good experience in technological-based farming practices.

Investment Requirement

The applicant must have significant net worth and investment in order to the eligible for this stream. The net worth must be at least $350,000 CAD and the candidate should be able to invest at least $150,000 CAD in a farming business in rural Manitoba.

Application Procedure

First of all, this pathway requires the interested candidates to submit an EOI to MPNP by emailing a Farm Business Concept Form along with a Farm Investor Pathway Interest Guidelines Form. The candidates are encouraged to do extensive research into their proposed Manitoba business and also do an exploratory visit to Manitoba.
The candidates who turn out to be eligible get a Letter of Advice to Apply (LAA), which acts as an invitation to submit an official application to MPNP. Once the LAA is received, the candidates must submit a complete PNP application. If the application gets approved, Manitoba issues the applicant a certificate of nomination. The candidate then needs to sign a Deposit Agreement and also send a deposit of $75,000 CAD.
Once the provincial nomination is received, the applicant is free to apply for Canadian permanent resident status, and once the PR status gets approved, the applicant is free to travel to Manitoba in order to launch their farm business.
